The Benue State Governor has said speculations about an alleged rift between himself and the Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume is the creation of people with dubious interest, especially the opposition in the State.
The Chief Press secretary to the Governor cleared the air on the speculation in reaction to accusations by a group named, Benue Patriots that the SGF interfering in the governance of the state.
On several occasions the Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has come out to deny any existing rifts between himself and the Secretary to the Goverment of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
He has also reassures party members that the party remains one as there’s no existing division.
But it has not stopped speculations and different group airing their own views on the matter.
Of recent a civil society group named Benue Patriot has rehashed this speculation going further to argue that the continued interference of the SGF in the running of the state, particularly in the appointment of persons into political office, has slowed governance.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Kula Tersoo, again insists that his principal has no problem with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
He adds that on the contrary , Governor Alia and Senator Akume enjoyed the best of relationships.
The publicity Secretary for the all progressive Congress in the state also dismisses all speculation.
The SGF has yet to respond to these speculations, which need to be dealt with once and for all.
