The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is set to arraign former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
The federal government in a 20 count charge is accusing the former CBN governor of illegally procuring 98 vehicles and armoured buses to the tune of N9.6 billion.
Mr Emefiele who is currently on bail, had filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit at the FCT high court challenging his illegal detention by the DSS and the EFCC.
Justice Olukayode Adeniyi had granted Mr Emefiele bail by releasing him to his lawyer Matthew Burkaa a senior advocate of Nigeria, who is to produce him in court of arraignment.
The federal government on two occasions had failed to arraign Mr Emefiele after he was re-arrested by the DSS at the federal high court in Lagos.
Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High court has adjourned to November 22nd to rule on the bail application of Godwin Emefiele.
In the interim, he ordered that Emefiele be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Center.
