The Federal Government has urged all unions in the university system in Nigeria to cooperate with the government to promote industrial harmony and end incessant strikes.
Speaking at the 33rd convocation of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, President Bola Tinubu, represented by the former President of West Africa College of Surgeons, Professor King-David Terna Yawe said there is the need for improved productivity in the universities.

A total of 195 out of the 3,491students graduated with First Class.

The President stressed the need to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquilly on campuses, by avoiding incessant strikes.
President Tinubu promised that the Federal Government will ensure that motivational activities are put in place in the university system to ensure improved productivity.
He said the government is aware of the challenges confronting higher institutions of learning in the country.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Adenike Oladiji said funding of education should not be left in the hand government alone.
The university also conferred postgraduate diploma, masters and doctoral degrees on 1,806 postgraduate students at the ceremony.
