The Governorship Candidate of labour Party has called on the independent National Electoral Commission to ensure collation of results take place in all INEC designated centres and not at the local government council headquarters during Saturday’s Election in Imo State.
The Labour Party Governorship Candidate Athan Achonu made the call while addressing journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
As Political parties are intensifying efforts to woo voters for the Saturday Governorship Election, they are also asking the Electoral umpire to do the right thing before, during and after Election.
The Labour Party Governorship Candidate wants collation to take place at INEC designated points and not the Local Government headquarters to avoid compromising the integrity of the process.
While Labour Party Governorship Candidate condemns the ill-treatment of the Labour leader Joe Ajaero, the kinsmen of mr. Ajaero from Owerri North Local Government area and Youths from his Community are not happy with the humiliation of the union leader in his State.
At a press conference, they wondered why Mr. Ajaero who was fighting a just cause be treated like a common criminal.
Observers believe that the promises being made by the independent National Electoral Commission and security Agencies will come to fruition for a successful Election on Saturday.
