Members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP have stormed Kofar Nasarawa Bridge to protest the Court of Appeal verdict that removed Governor Abba Yusuf.
The protesters carried placards of various inscriptions chanting party slogans.
They were surrounded by operatives of the Nigeria Police and DSS and NSCDC.
The NNPP has planned to protest the judgment at some strategic locations in the state.
The protesters vow to continue their demonstrations till they get justice.
The Police in Kano had banned all forms of protests or celebrations before, during and after the court of appeal judgment.
On Nov 17th, the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the election petition tribunal, which sacked Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and declared the APC candidate, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, winner.
The three-member panel of the appeal court dismissed the appeal filed by Governor Yusuf based on his membership status in his party.
Confusion, however, ensued on Tuesday, Nov 21 when the CTC of the court judgement which surfaced four days after the judgment had been delivered showed contradictions in the conclusions.
