The Directorate of Technical Aid Corp has received 23 returning Technical Aid Corp volunteers from Uganda after the completion of their 2 year service.
At the debriefing ceremony in Abuja, the Director General of the agency says the returning volunteers were great Ambassadors of Nigeria who have demonstrated an exemplary performance in their duties.
The 23 returnees include Professors, Doctors of Philosophy and other lecturers sent to various universities in Uganda as humanitarian lecturers.
They returnees led by Ibrahim Bangida Abubakar were all presented with certificates of return.
The team lead worked as an associate Dean in research, at the Kampala International University.
He talked about the experiences of members of the Corp and their contribution to educational development in Uganda.
He says the job also took a toll on his family as the programme caused temporary forced Separation.
The Director General of DTAC, says the impact of the programme is valuable.
He says one of the significant impacts is on contributions to innovations.
The DG says the agency, does not extend volunteer service, but has a role in helping the returning volunteers in situations where the country needs their continued service.
