The Ondo State Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill to the state House of Assembly.
According to the acting governor, N384.533 billion was appropriated for both capital and recurrent expenditure for the fiscal year
TVC news correspondent Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that the 2924 budget estimate, totaling 384.5 billion naira, which was presented to the State House of Assembly by the state Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is the last to be presented by the current administration.
According to the breakdown of the budget proposal, infrastructure has the highest allocation of 95.4 billion naira, representing 24.8 percent.
In the proposal, 31.8 billion naira is budgeted for Agriculture, while 47.7 billion naira is allocated to the Education sector.
A total of 82.4 billion will be spent on public finance.
The Acting Governor said the budget will focus on investment in human capital development, with renewed vigour in independent revenue collection.
He added that the current national and global economic realities, point to the need for the government to think outside the box.
