It’s believed that over 50 locals and members of some communities in Mangu, Bokkos, and Barkin Ladi Council areas of Plateau State lost their lives following gunmen’s Saturday Christmas Eve attacks.
The Berom Youth Moulders Association, in a press statement made available to journalists, says over 50 people lost their lives across 8 villages in the invasion in the Barkin Ladi Council area alone.
Many were injured, and searches are still ongoing for those who are missing.
The Operation Safe Haven special taskforce, on their part, says that based on their recoveries from the attacks, 12 corpses have so far been recovered.
They called on residents in the state to remain calm as security operatives are on top of the situation.
