The Lagos state government has been accused of illegally demolishing a standing property located at Ogundana in the Allen area of Lagos.
The property, said to have all necessary documents, was demolished without demolition notice given.
TVC news correspondent Theophilus Elamah reports an online video circulating shows a demolition exercise going on by the Lagos state building control agency.
This happened in the Allen area of ikeja, and raised several reactions.
TVC News visited the area and the building which used to house a bustling business is now a wreckage. This has thrown many into a life of uncertainty and chaos especially as Christmas draws near.
The owners of the structure, though distraught, say that the govt agency came with allegation that the property has no building approval which they say was obtained as far back 1985 after the property was built in 1977.
Now they are pleading with the government to investigate this matter as the situation.
TVC news put a call through to the general manager of the Lagos state building control agency via the public relations officers office but, before hitting the airwaves, we haven’t received any response to the allegations leveled.
