Lagos state commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, environment says structures impeding flow of water along the drainage paths will be removed.
He said this during an inspection of some drainage systems in Ikoyi.
Officials from the Ministry of Environment embark on an inspection of drainage channels, starting from Dodan Barracks in Ikoyi.
Previous structures obstructing the path have been removed, facilitating smoother water passage.
Mr. Wahab and his team identify locations with erected fences constraining drainage setbacks, highlighting the need for intervention.
During the inspection, Mr. Wahab appeals to residents, urging them to refrain from erecting structures and improperly disposing of waste in drainage paths.
As the Ministry of Environment takes proactive measures for unobstructed drainage in Lagos, residents are called upon to contribute to a safer and more resilient city by adopting responsible practices.
