The Minister of State for Defence has called on newly promoted senior officers of the Nigerian Army to redouble their efforts in combating the security challenges in the country.
Mr. Bello Matawalle explained that there can be no rapid development without security.
It was a dream come true for 47 Brigadier Generals who were recently promoted to the rank of Major General.
Reaching the peak of their career is no mean feat, and the senior officers are grateful to the Commander in Chief of the armed forces and the Army authorities for the elevation.
The newly promoted officers were decorated with their new ranks.
75 other promoted senior officers are to be decorated at their various units and formations.
The recent promotion will also pave the way for the retirement of other senior officers.
