The Nigeria police have dismissed two special constabularies caught on a viral video soliciting for money from a Dutch biker.
Oyo state Commissioner of Police Hamzat Adebola pronounced their dismissal at the state’s Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
TVC News correspondent, Olaide Oyewole reports that in a rather disappointing atmosphere, the two special constabularies were stripped off their uniforms by officers of the Nigeria Police force.
The duo Jimoh Lukmon and Kareem Fatai were seen in a viral video along Moniya-Iseyin road demanding money from a tourist who told them she was en-route Abuja.
While pronouncing their dismissal, the Commissioner of Police described the act as a deliberate defilement of the professional ethics of the Nigeria police force.
The Oyo CP reaffirmed his commitment towards fighting all professional misconduct within the command.
It is hoped that this action would serve as a deterrent to other officers within and beyond that position.
