W.A.I.F.A.R stands for Welfare, Re-organisation of Sports Federations, Activation of Grassroots Sports, Infrastructure, Funding for Sports Development and Reorganization of Sports Federations for Impact.
Identifying the National Youth Games as a flagship programme of the Ministry.
With over 200 athletes discovered each year from the Youth Games, the ministry is proposing programmes to continuously nurture them for the future.
As part of the plan, the minister has initiated a partnership between the National Institute of Sports and the Tertiary Education Trustfund, TETFUND for the development of coaches.

The National Sports Investment Programme, NSIP remain under-utilised and there is a need for more publicity and engagement with the corporate sector to drive more non-government investment into sports.
