A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Victoria Amu has affirmed her commitment to the supremacy of the party over individual ambitions, stating that her gubernatorial ambition is not bigger than the party’s collective goals.In a statement released on Saturday in Benin City, Mrs. Amu underscored the importance of party unity and cohesion, emphasizing that the success of the APC in Edo State is paramount.
“While I am passionate about the prospect of serving the good people of Edo State as their governor, I want to make it unequivocally clear that my ambition is not greater than the supremacy of our party. The APC’s collective goals and the well-being of the people of Edo State are of utmost importance to me. I am fully aligned with the party’s vision and principles,” stated Mrs. Amu.
Mrs. Amu further expressed her dedication to fostering unity within the party, working collaboratively with party members, leaders, and stakeholders to ensure a formidable and united APC in Edo State.
“Party supremacy is a fundamental principle that guides our democratic process. I am fully committed to upholding this principle and contributing to the success of the APC in Edo State. Our collective strength lies in unity, and together, we will build a party that truly represents the aspirations of the people,” Mrs. Amu added.
Mrs Amu further stated that she will abide by the decisions of the party in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
“As a loyal and committed member of the APC, I want to reassure everyone that I will abide by the decisions of our great party. The APC’s internal processes, including primaries and other party mechanisms, are essential for maintaining democracy and ensuring that our collective goals are achieved. I am fully aligned with the party’s values and will wholeheartedly support the candidate chosen by the APC,” stated Mrs. Amu.
Mrs. Amu highlighted the importance of unity within the party, emphasizing that the strength of the APC lies in its ability to present a united front to the electorate.
“Party unity is paramount as we approach the 2024 elections. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with party members, leaders, and stakeholders to ensure a strong and united APC in Edo State. Mrs Amu thanked the leader and former governor of the state, Senator Adams Oshiomhole for his quality leadership and assured him of her eagerness to actively contribute to the party’s success in the 2024 governorship election.
