The governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas has received a report from the committee assigned to screen and recommend suitable candidates for the office of the Head of Service.
The governor stated that the civil service in the state is in need of reforms and urged civil servants to live up to expectations.
He also announced the conversion of the committee to a team named the Responsive Civil Service Monitoring Team and asked them to suggest areas of training and capacity building for the civil servants.
The chairman of the committee, Mr Danadas had earlier told the governor that there is a skill gap in the state civil service that needs attention.
He also informed the governor that there is also a training and capacity building of civil servants to drive actualisation of the governor’s vision.
The governor also announced that the committee would monitor the head of service and the deployment of the secretary for six months to see the impact of the changes.
This is the first time the Taraba State Government has set up a committee to search for a candidate for the office of the head of service.
