Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been praised by his successor, President Bola Tinubu, for not interfering in the running of the presidency since he left office in May 2023.
President Bola Tinubu was speaking at the public presentation of a book titled “Muhammadu Buhari: The Nigerian Legacy” and another book titled “Working with Buhari: A Reflection of a Special Advisor Media and Publicity”.
President Buhari returned to Abuja for the event, where he was praised by President Tinubu for maintaining his principle of non-interference.
Meanwhile, “Muhammadu Buhari: The Nigerian Legacy – 2015 – 2023 (Vols 1-5),” reviewed by Professor Eghosa Osaghae, Director General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, and Professor Kabiru Mayo, with Dr. Udu Yakubu as the editor, delves into Buhari’s legacy.
The event was attended by many who worked with President Buhari during his time in office. The books aim to reveal more about the conservative life of President Buhari’s administration and highlight the strength of decisions made during his tenure.
The books were authored by FEI Adash, who worked closely with President Buhari during his administration. Despite turbulence caused by two economic recessions, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the #EndSARS protests, people who worked closely with President Buhari still speak fondly of his time in office.
Tinubu thanked the former president for being a statesman.
