Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have killed ten armed bandits and rescued nine kidnapped victims in Katsina and Zamfara states.
The troops also recovered arms and ammunition including operational motorcycle and communication gadgets belonging to the terrorists.
The feat was recorded in recent dry season clearance operations commanded by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut
This is in continuation of the joint military operation aimed at addressing the activities of criminal elements in the North West and parts of North Central regions
A statement from authorities of Operation Hadarin Daji says the combined troops on Wednesday conducted an offensive operation in identified Terrorist enclaves at Batsari and Safana Local councils of Katsina state and killed ten terrorists while others fled with gunshot wounds
The Troops also recovered one AK-47 Rifle, Seven Dane guns, three locally fabricated guns, live ammunition,communication gadgets, mobile phones, and military uniforms, four Motorcycles and other dangerous weapons
The bandits operation motorcycles recovered by the troops were set ablaze and destroyed
Similarly, on the same day, troops of operating in Zamfara state, conducted a search and rescue operation at Dansadau and Dandalla villages in Maru Local government of the state
During the operation according to the statement nine kidnapped victims were rescued, among them are five Women and four babies.
The victims were abandoned by the terrorists who fled after a gun duel with the resilient troops.
The rescued victims were immediately reunited with their families at Magami village in Zamfara state
