Katsina state Governor Dikko Umar Radda has flagged off the disbursement of over 1.2 billion school improvement grant to 150 schools in the state.
This is another layer of schools intervention that targets pupils enrollment and construction of additional classes to transforming education system in the state level.
The repositioning schools project has remained one of the Cardinal objectives of katsina state government in the last seven months in order pave way for more enrollment of out of school pupils in the state.
Katsina state is among the states with highest number of out of school children, but the government has taken up the challenge to change the trend.
The Lack of qualified teachers and a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning has remained a challenge for many states with large population.
This is why the government is increasing funding to improve schools standards and recruit additional teachers to teach the four basic subjects.
With the growing population and the pressure on schools infrastructure, government is ramping up plans to decongest schools.
The state coordinator of the transforming education system at the state level Binta Abdulmummini spoke at length on the criteria used for choosing the schools.
The governor also used the event to call on the parents and other stakeholders in education to intensify schools supervision at all time.
