The Director General National Youths Service Corps , Yushau Dogara Ahmed , has assured residents of Gosa-Sarki community, and other citizens in rural areas across the country, of access to good healthcare through a programme that seeks to provide medial outreach to four million Nigerians .
This was disclosed at the flagged off of 2024 NYSC Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers in Abuja .
Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure is often insufficient to meet the needs of its vast and growing population.
The country faces a shortage of healthcare facilities, medical professionals, and essential medical equipment.
Many families, particularly in rural areas, lack access to basic healthcare services.
This is why the NYSC has decided to change the narrative by proffering solution to this problems.
The agency has been embarking on medical outreach across the country using Corp members who will carry out medical treatments for residents in rural areas.
In, Gosa-Sarki community, the DG NYSC Yushau Dogara Ahmed disclosed that the aim is to provide four million Nigerians with medial outreach .
Other leaders in the NYSC scheme explained that this initiative has brought succor to thousands of Nigerians.
Some NGOs who are in collaboration with the NYSC supported the agency with medical equipment.
The district head of the community commended the NYSC as this is the first time they will benefit from such outreach programmes.
