Delta state government has sealed an eatery in Asaba for channeling its waste into the public drains which is harmful.
Commissioner for Environment Jamani Ejiro who led a team to the firm warned other businesses violating the state’s environmental sanitation laws to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
The state government’s urban revitalization effort is gaining traction, as the Commissioner for Environment promised today to penalize anyone who violates its regulations.
Mr. Jamani Ejiro and his colleagues are here to enforce the environmental sanitation regulation governing trash disposal, which this fast food establishment has breached.
Residents around the building have complained about the stink from rubbish thrown into the drains.
Delta state environmental concerns include oil and gas extraction, solid waste disposal/management, erosion and flood control, land deterioration, and others. The Delta state government also set aside N7.5 billion for urban renovation in the 2024 budget.
