Over five thousand residents of Abia are targeted to benefit from free surgery and other consultations by a medical mission from the United States of America.
The group stated this at a press briefing held in Government House, Umuahia.
As Nigeria’s economy steadily bounces back, many Nigerians are trying to find how they can assist more people to move out of the poverty line.
A group with the acronym, ANPA, which stands for Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas is in Nigeria to provide health care for those who cannot afford hospital bills.
The medical mission landed in Abia to conduct free surgeries for patients with Hernia, Goitre and others, as well as handle other medical consultations for about 5,000 residents with critical medical condition.
At the Specialist Hospital, Aba road, Umuahia, registration of patients from different local government areas of the state, is ongoing and hopefully, the ones who will scale through, would be treated.
