A former Head of Service in Ondo State, Kayode Ogundele has described the civil service of any state as the engine room of governance, which must be given special attention.
Speaking at a programme in his honour in Akure, the State capital, Ogundele said he is not bitter about his removal as the State Head of Service.
This gathering is made-up of members of the Ikare Think Tank, involved in championing the need to end the communal crisis in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State.
They came to honour one of their own, Kayode Ogundele, who recently retired as the state Head of Service.
In his speech, Ogundele said he left the state civil service better than he met it.
According to him, the civil service remains the engine room of any government.
Some members of the Ikare Think Tank stressed the need to sustain the peace in Ikare-Akoko.
They also want members to work with the state government to bring rapid development to Ikare-Akoko.
