Russia has appointed Admiral Alexander Moiseev as head of the navy, the defence ministry said on Tuesday.
Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu on Tuesday announced the appointment of Admiral Alexandr Moiseev as commander in chief of the nation’s Navy, on a teleconference with the Armed Forces’ leaders.
“The minister presented a decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the appointment of Admiral Alexander Moiseev as commander-in-chief of the Navy,” Shoigu posted on its official Telegram account on Tuesday.
The Defence Minister also said that Vice Admiral Konstantin Kabantsov was appointed as commander of the Northern Fleet, and Vice Admiral Sergei Pinchuk was named as commander of the Black Sea fleet.
Shoigu congratulated Moiseev, Kabantsov and Pinchuk, and reminded them of the responsibility that now rests on their shoulders.
