Troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed a large number of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists by overrunning their stronghold in the Timbuktu triangle in the Lake Chad region.
Numerous terrorists in the vicinity were stormed and killed during the week-long clearance operation by the Nigerian Army’s Sector 2, Special Forces Brigade, HYBRID forces, and Civilian JTF. The Nigerian Air Force assisted with aerial cover and reconnaissance tasks.
Sources say the strikes in Kafa and Mafi general area by the NAF Component, on April 15, resulted to the total obliteration of two vehicles and the decimation of all the fighters on board.
The troops also recovered one hilux truck and another on 1 x 105 Pack Howitzer.
