Ondo State government has assured residents of Oda area that ongoing road project will be completed soon.
The state government’s reaction is coming following an appeal from residents who lamented the slow pace of work on the road
Former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu launched the construction of the 8-kilometre Akure-Oda Dual Carriageway in August, 2019.
The project was expected to terminate at Kajola area, but the State Government extended it to Oda town, with an expanded one lane adopted.
Almost five years after the launch, the road is yet to be completed.
From the Weli Weli axis of the road is still under construction, with the contractors working to ensure its delivery.
But some residents of Akure want the contractor to expedite action on the road project.
The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Joseph Babalola assured the people that the road will be completed soon.
He said the delay was caused by the need to review the contract, due to high cost of materials.
