The Police authorities in Plateau State have paraded a student of the Plateau State Polytechnic who faked himself as a suicide bomber and threatened to bomb a bank while demanding the sum of one hundred million Naira in Jos the Plateau state capital.
The development created serious panic and tension among residents of the Dadin Kowa community, where he was arrested.
The Student whose name was given by the Police as Benjamin Basil is the latest suspected criminal arrested in Plateau state.
He is a student of the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi Main Campus.
He was apprehended by the collaborative efforts of security operatives and residents of Dadin Kowa community, where he attempted to extort the sum of one hundred million naira from a commercial bank.
The police explained that the suspect was wearing fake explosives, before entering the banking hall where he threatened to bomb the building if the money he was demanding is not given to him by the cashier.
The suspect also spoke to journalist on why he acted in such manner.
Other suspected criminals arrested for various crimes in the state were also paraded before journalists.
The police authorities say they will charge the suspects to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
