The Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General Garba Wahab retired, says the judiciary and the local government councils must live up to their roles if the country is to overcome the security challenges.
The former General Officer Commanding One-Division explained that tackling the security issues is not what the army alone can handle.
The security challenges continue to evolve while government efforts to address the situation have yielded marginal results.
Ahead of a dialogue aimed at proffering workable solutions to the security issue, the Nigerian Army Resource Centre brought together media professionals to examine the challenges.
They believe the security issues can be addressed if the local government and other arms of government live up to their roles.
The Centre is convinced that security challenges can be addressed only when indigenous solutions are applied.
