The Benue State Government has commenced its digital skills initiative to empower 10,000 youths to be self-reliant and employers of labour.
The initiative is also expected to create over 50,000 new jobs in the state when the initial beneficiaries cascade the training in the state.
The Benue Government Digital Skills initiative, also known as Benue Tech Skills, is a fundamental shift in Benue’s approach to economic growth, youth empowerment, and employment generation in the ICT sector.
The programme aims to create jobs by empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds with essential digital skills including coding, data and advanced analytics, digital marketing, e-commerce, and
smartphone videography, amongst others.
The Initiative which was held at the Benue State University will not only enhance the employability of youths but also attract significant investment into the State, boosting our economic growth.
The training consultant also gave details of some of the curriculum and it’s impact
Participants expressed hope, that there will be a lot to benefit at the end of the training.
The influx of technology-based companies and startups will also provide ample employment opportunities for these skilled workforces, thereby reducing unemployment rates and elevating the standard of
living.
