The Independents National Electoral Commission has postponed the scheduled Enugu South One rerun election that was supposed to hold on 8th June, to a later date
Enugu state INEC resident electoral commissioner Chukwuemeka Chukwu made this public at a news briefing in Enugu
The commission attributes reason for postponement to security advice from security agencies, after due consultation with Inter Party Advisory committee members in the state.
Earlier, candidate of Labour Party in the election requested that the REC and an Electoral officer should not to be allowed to conduct the poll.
He alleged complicity, and wants national body of the commission to send new INEC officials to conduct the rerun
