Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi has warned local government chairmen, district heads, ward heads, and village heads against encroaching on cattle routes and allocating government lands illegally.
Speaking at the Hawan Bariki event, part of the second day of Sallah celebrations in Dutse, Governor Namadi emphasised that anyone found allocating land illegally will face severe consequences.
He also declared that all lands allocated illegally are hereby revoked and shall remain the property of the state government.
The governor’s warning is aimed at protecting the state’s lands and cattle routes from encroachment and illegal activities that course security threat in the state.
According to him the move is part of the state government’s efforts to preserve public lands and ensure sustainable peace and development in the state.
