In a bid to encourage local farming and promote food sufficiency, Ondo State Government has launched the 2024 planting season.
The State Government used the event to distribute farm inputs to farmers, with a determination to boost food production in the State.
Farmers from various local government areas of Ondo State gathered here for the launch of the 2024 planting season.
The State Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami stood in for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the event.
While reading the governor’s message, Adelami said the state government has done a lot to tackle challenges confronting farmers in the state, by creating conducive environment for them to operate.
In his opening address, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Olayato Aribo said the annual event affords the government opportunity to enlighten farmers on agriculture opportunities and support them with improved crops, livestock and planting materials, among others.
