Governor Ahmadu Fintiri says his administration will continue to partner with the northeast development commission to commence the reconstruction of Waga Bridge, linking Adamawa and Borno states that has been washed away by erosion.
This may not be the best of time for residents of Madagali local government area of Adamawa state.
The bridge linking them to their farms and neighbouring Maiduiguri has partially been watched away by heavy downpour.
There cry has now reached governor Fintiri who defied the heavy downpour to assess the level of damage considering the importance of the bridge.
Governor Fintiri described the bridge as a major route that leads to Sambisa forest and the Mandara mountain where most of the Boko Haram insurgents are hiding.
The governor assured that the rehabilitation work will commence immediately as the state government is already in talks with the North East Development commission.
Governor Finitiri added that the road is very key and essential to both Adamawa and Borno state.
The visit of the governor to Madagali has rekindled the hope of the residents that there predicament will soon be addressed.
