In a disturbing development, United state President, Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 for the 3rd time, disrupting a key campaign event meant to shore up support with Latino voters, at a critical juncture in the US 2024 election campaign.
According to his doctor, President Biden is experiencing mild symptoms and has received his first dose of an antiviral drug.
The US President, in July 2022, first tested positive for COVID 19—and in 2023, he again tested positive
Now, the 81 year old President has tested positive, yet again.
The Las Vegas event where he was expected to speak at the UnidosUS annual conference has been postponed.
Announcing his Covid infection on Wednesday night, the White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre said President Biden was facing mild symptoms.
Ms Jean-Pierre added that the president plans to isolate at his home in Delaware, while carrying out all of his duties, fully.
The president’s doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said Mr. Biden presented with upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny nose and a cough, and has been given his first dose, of an antiviral drug.
