Leaders of the All Progressive Congress in Ondo East Local government of Ondo State have kicked against the alleged imposition of the leadership of the Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LCDAs) transition committee by the Speaker of the state Assembly, Hon Olamide Oladiji.
The leaders under the aegis of APC Frontiers Group, in a protest letter to governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, accused the speaker of neglecting” the party leadership in taking crucial decisions concerning the party especially the recent composition of the Local Government and LCDA transition committee.
The protest letter was signed by Snr. Apostle Akinmejiwa Olusola, Alh. Adesina Salami, Akintunde Temitope Olanukan, Hon. Olawumi Oluwaseyi, Awotunde Babalola Rabiu, Hon. Mrs. Olukemi Akinagbe Peter, Mrs. Gbojubola Olajide and Waheed Olaiya.
They said the action of the Speaker was oppressive and that he “gives no respect to any of the party leaders, the speaker unilaterally choose and impose the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and all members of both Ondo East and LCDA without the input of any of the leaders/stakeholders”
The group of leaders and stakeholders also stated that “the procedure the Speaker used in sharing the recent palliatives from the State government is not in tandem with the purpose it’s meant to serve as he only shared it within his loyalist and the party structure was totally ignored.
According to them “The Speaker has neglected ward 4 which is non-indigenes dominated ward and also the inclusion of female in the transition committee thereby neglecting the 35% allocation to the women, they added.
