The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and the people of Egbaland have celebrated Wole Soyinka in a unique way through art exhibition.
The event brought together works of sixty five exhibitors, to celebrate the 90th birthday of the man popularly known as Kongi.
Wole Soyinka, a legend in the arts, has been celebrated via art by the people of Ake, Egbaland, where he received his basic education.
The people of Egbaland, led by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, used artworks and paintings to convey the narrative of the guy known as Kongi during an exhibition at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.
The Alake said the exhibition was to celebrate Wole Soyinka, motivate and propel the younger ones to greatness and to discover talents.
More than 90 artworks representing different stages of life and personality of Wole Soyinka were on display.

Pupils from St Peters Ake where Wole Soyinka started his academic journey also displayed their drawing skills during the exhibition which is one of the programmes outlined for the celebration of the 90th birthday of the Nobel laureate
