The Federal Government of Nigeria has handed over another round of 12,800 bags of grains and 3,000 bags of garri to the government of Ekiti State.
The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Zubaida Umar, represented by the South West coordinator, Mr. Stephen Adewale, who handed over the assorted commodities, said that this initiative was part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to alleviate the economic challenges currently affecting the nation.
Mr. Adewale explained that 20% of the distributed food items should go to local governments and be handed over to religious leaders, while 3% should be allocated to boarding schools in various local governments within the state.
He said this was to ensure that the aid reaches the most vulnerable populations equitably.
The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Monisade Afuye, who received the items on behalf of the state government, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support amidst the economic hardship.
Afuye assured that with the president’s strategic policies, Nigeria would overcome the economic difficulties.
She promised that the items would reach the intended vulnerable groups. Track Up….. Mr Stephen Adewale (South West Coordinator (2) Track Up…. Monisade Afunfe (Deputy Governor Ekiti -State
