Delivering a distinguished personality lecture at the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, the senator argues that the establishment of the state police will mitigate Nigeria’s security challenges if proper
control mechanisms are put in place.
Many have argued for the establishment of state police to complement the federal policing architecture for effective security.
But for others, such may be misused by some governors for selfish reasons.
These conflicting trajectories among stakeholders made the university of Ilorin to organize this public lecture.
