The Minister of works, Senator Dave Umahi has reiterated the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the rehabilitation and completion of the East-West road.
He disclosed this while inspecting the pace of work on the Ahaoda axis in Rivers State where the contractors now use re-enforced concrete in place of asphalt.
The slow pace of work along Section Two of the East-West Road has become a source of concern for key players in the Niger Delta region.
Recent calls for more attention on the deplorable road informs the working visit of the minister of works, Senator Dave Umahi to ahoada to inspect the project.
Concrete testing equipment is used to check the quality of the ongoing project as the minister assures the keen interest of the President in completing the project.
He allays concerns over the use of contractors and reveals dire consequences if the completion date is delayed.
With the importance of the East-West road, motorists are hopeful significant improvement would be made before the height of the rainy and flood season.
