The federal government says remittances from Nigerians in diaspora totaled $29.9 billion in 2023, up from $20 billion in 2022, which they say will benefit the country’s economy.
This was revealed at the national diaspora 2024 day, which had the theme; Japa phenomenon and its significance for national development.

In her welcome address, the chairman, CEO NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri recognised the investment of Nigerians in diaspora, but wants the govt to increase the budget of the commission in 2025
