The Federal Road Safety Corps is advocating stronger synergy with residents to help reduce the statistics of car crashes.
FRSC made the call at the decoration ceremony of honorary special marshals in Port Harcourt.
The Special Marshalls form the second arm of the FRSC comprising men and women who work with the corps as volunteers.
Through consistent and freewill donation of infrastructure, equipment to aid the FRSC’s job and public sensitization, two individuals earned a place as honorary special marshals.
The FRSC says their recognition underscores the important role that residents can play to ensure safety of motorists and other road users.
The FRSC says it needs all the assistance it can get and so interested persons are welcome to join the Special Marshalls.
The FRSC hopes to induct three more persons into the ranks of Honorary Special Marshalls in Rivers State before the end of the year.
