The Independent National Electoral Commission wants full integration of persons living with disabilities into the electoral process to further strengthen strengthen democratic Governance in Nigeria.
Representatives of various political parties, civil society organizations, and persons with disabilities as well as INEC Electoral officer converged on Osun.
They converged on the invitation of the Commission in Osogbo for its second quarter consultative meeting.
Top among issues discussed is how to eliminate all forms of barriers hindering active participation of eligible Nigerians in electoral process.
Mutiu Agboke said INEC is doing all within its powers to ensure Nigerians repose confidence in the Commission calling for the support of every citizen.
The event went into technical session where each group identified and proffered solutions that could aid smooth electoral process in the country.
All the papers presented centered around strategies for Adoption for improved participation of PWDs and effective capturing of their disaggregated data on election Day.
Another quarterly consultative meeting of the Commission will be held within the next three months.
