Leaders of Organised Labour have arrived the presidential villa for the highly anticipated meeting with President Bola Tinubu over unresolved negotiation for a new national minimum wage.
The Labour Union, led by Joe Ajaero of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Festus Osifo of the Trade Union Congress, led other executives to the meeting with the President, which also included the Ministers of Labour, Finance, Budget and National Planning, Information, and National Orientation.
The Tripartite Committee on the new national minimum wage had recently submitted two figures to the President as the organized private sector and the government team had offered to pay N62,000, while the organized labour demanded N250,000.
Following the disagreement over the figure, the President delayed to send any figure to the National Assembly through an Executive Bill to opted consult with all the relevant stakeholders in order to resolve all the contentious issues.
