Five persons have been confirmed dead following a building collapse at Arowojobe Estate in the Maryland area of Lagos State.
The building under construction collapsed at 3:40am on Thursday in the Maryland area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
Permanent secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed this in a statement.
The emergency responder said five persons, all adult males, were rescued from the building collapse site.
The first three victims that were rescued were taken to Gbagada General Hospital, while the other 2 victims that were rescued were ferried to the Trauma Center at Gbagada after being stabilised.
The five adult Male victims that were recovered dead, have been handed over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, Sehmu, for further processing.
Search and rescue operation is still ongoing to ground Zero.
