As some Nigerians prepare to embark on protest to express their minds against the current economic situation in the country and other issues affecting the citizens, a first class monarch in Ondo State has called for calm in the interest of the country.
The Deji of Akure, Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade made this known while speaking to journalists in Abeokuta after attending a programme in celebration of the life of Titus Odedina.
He later visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Alake of Egbaland, Adedotun Gbadebo.
He said president Tinubu just spent a year in office and needs more time to address some of the challenges confronting the country.
In a similar situation, the Ogun Youth Assembly has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to urgently convene a public engagement to address the hardship confronted by residents ahead of the proposed nationwide protest
He said the group has met the governor and has advised him on steps to take to facilitate peace and development in the state.
The group also acknowledged the need for key players in the national project to choose the path of dialogue in the interest of the country.
