The Niger Delta Development Commission is now paying attention to the East-West road in Rivers state which has gulped billions of naira and defied efforts to fix it.
The MD/CEO, Niger Delta Development Commission Samuel Ogbuku, said this effort will reduce travel time and also enhance socio-economic activities in the area.
NDDC is on an interventionist mission to fix bad portions of the East-West road which may just be all that is required to turnaround the harrowing daily experience of commuters.
.
The Managing Director and top officials of the NDDC and President of the Ijaw Youth Council were on site to meet an Engineer in charge of repairs and construction at the Okogbe/Ula-Obo axis of the road in Rivers State.
The Commission says the Federal Government is concerned about the plight of travelers on the East West Road.
For now, travelers are using alternative routes through the Ula-Okobo Junction through adjoining villages to beat traffic.
