The Niger State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs is distributing relief materials to displaced persons in 10 IDP camps across Shiroro and Munya local councils.
These areas have been severely affected by banditry attacks, and many recipients still have family members in captivity despite paying ransoms amounting to millions of naira.
The displaced persons in the Kuta camp come from Musuku, Gwadara, Gurmana, Paleli, Allawa, Bassa, Zangoro, and Madaka.
Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Ahmed Yumu assured the people of the government’s commitment to their welfare and stated that efforts are being made to improve security in their area.
The distributed items include food and non-food supplies such as rice, garri, millet, mats, blankets, and drugs.
