The Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi, says President Bola Tinubu’s legacy projects has helped in enhancing connectivity and economic growth in Nigeria’s coastal regions.
Speaking at a stakeholder engagement in Calabar, Cross River State, the Minister highlighted the benefits of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, which will span 92km and connect seven states.
The minister expressed disappointment with the handling of the Odukpani-Itu federal road project, issuing a 7-day ultimatum to contractors to return to site or face contract revocation.
Speaking also ,Cross River State Bassey Otu pledged cooperation and announced the state’s readiness to pay N400 million compensation for the project.
The engagement brought together various stakeholders, including national assembly members, public servants, traditional leaders, and professionals.
