Some students of the University of Ibadan have occupied the institution’s gate to protest against a 300 percent increase in their tuition fees and a lack of electricity.
The students, who barricaded the school’s main gate, preventing vehicles from entering, were armed with placards bearing inscriptions indicating their demands.
Some students who spoke with TVC News said that their hostels have been without electricity for a while, making it difficult for them to access water.
The angry students vowed to continue the protest until their demands are met by the school’s management.
