Businessmen and Youths in Maiduguri the Borno State Capital have asked for a change in focus from demonstrations to government engagement in constructive dialogue.
They believe this is one sure way of achieving a prosperous nation.
There has been several engagements by government with stakeholders recently, in response to the nationwide planned protest.
Many are of the view that while protests bring attention to pressing issues, they do not directly address the root causes of economic instability.
At the NUJ Press Centre in Maiduguri today are Concerned Civil Society Group.
They are here to offer solutions to the Nigerian government.
In order to stabilise the economy and put the nation on the path to long-term peace and prosperity, the organisation is pleading with the federal government to act fast.
Residents of the state also suggest constructive engagement with the government rather than taking it to the streets.
They believe a swift action from the government will stabilise the local economy and give residents more immediate relief.
