A group known as Abdulhafiz Umar Gusau Foundation has distributed Cash and food items to over one hundred less privileged, Internally Displaced Persons and paid medical bills for some patients.
The group also paid the tuition fees of some orphans and children of those displaced by Insecurity and other natural disasters in Zamfara.
Representative of the Group Abdul Bala Gusau stated this while distributing the items to the beneficiaries at the emirs palace in Gusau.
He says the aim of the gesture is to help the poor and needy in the society considering the economic hardship and insecurity which has prevented many from farming especially in the state which is battling with Insecurity.
Abdul Bala adds that some women who were owing debts and could not settle it due to the current hardship were also assisted while house rent of some persons who could not afford it were paid.
” We have paid the tuition fees of twenty students studying at the Federal College of Education,Technical Gusau, federal polytechnic,Kaura Namoda and seven at the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic,Mafara” He said.
“We given five thousand naira each to fifty sick persons receiving treatment at King fahad Hospital, Samaru Gusau and donated Rice and Noodles to an orphanage in Tsunami and paid the tuition fee of two female orphans”.
” AUG Foundation has also gone ahead and distributed Bags of Rice and millet with a hundred thousand naira cash to three households in Filin Yari area, additionally five thousand naira was also given each to forty persons with disabilities”.
The non profitable organization further told newsmen that it has given fifty thousand naira to a widow to start business and thirty thousand naira each to orphanage homes belonging to one Lubabatu Abubakar and Halifax Sani while one hundred and fifty persons were given ten thousand naira each to cushion the current hardship.
” We have build two rooms apartment to someone residing in Yari area, Gusau, build a perimetre fence for someone in Ungwan Shado and roofed the house of a widow all in Yari area, Gusau “.
On his part, the emir of Gusau Ibrahim Bello thanked the group for having the masses at heart and appeal to the beneficiaries not to sell the items but use it judiciously.
The emir also call other well to do individuals and cooperate organizations to emulate such gesture by reaching out to those facing hard times.
These and many other things the Abdulhafiz Umar Gusau foundation did to countless residents of Zamfara state mostly the poor, less privileged, Internally displaced persons and persons living with disability.
